Kaelan

Kaelan is rather unresponsive and overall dreary - preferring to stay silent and out of the way. Due to being treated as a tool rather than a living being, he is incredibly subservient and incapable of making decisions on his own. As he was not shown actual affection in the 250 years of being 'alive', he has the wrong idea of what it means to be congratulated or loved. For example, expecting to be hit whenever he listens to directions properly. However, thanks to Caleb, he manages to slightly improve some of these traits for the better.

Biography

Early Years

Kaelan was created in 1650. Kaelan was the only successful - immortal - homunculus made by an alchemist named Donahue McAuley. He had tried, with varying success, creating homunculi prior to Kaelan. Many were either unstable, barely recognizable as living beings, or had died within seconds of their first breaths. The only difference between Kaelan and these previous failures was the fact that Kaelan is comprised of cells from Donahue himself, his appearance mimicking that of Donahue when he, himself, was a child.

In his first five years of existence, Kaelan was taught the basics of science, history, math, and etc, taught by Donahue, until he began his 'experiments'. Those experiments were the purpose for his creation, at least what Kaelan was told it was, which was to 'test the limits of the human body', when in reality Donahue only wanted an 'ethical' outlet for sadistic, violent urges.

Kaelan often suffered various and cruel actions, under the guise of being 'experiments'. Many of these often included being starved for weeks and then fed meals poisoned with arsenic, having his limbs broken, exposed to natural elements, and so on. Kaelan never complained about these things, only because he held the belief he was something less than human, this belief being enforced by constant detrimental comments made by Donahue.

Upon the Donahue's death, he made a request that his descendants continue these 'experiments'. Early on they justified the terrible treatment by saying it was necessary to further physiological knowledge, but as generations passed, the descendants only treated Kaelan like trash without any excuse because they knew he couldn't die or be incapacitated from their maltreatment.

Kaelan eventually escaped from the home, stowing on a boat heading towards the U.S.

Story Event 1

After getting through Ellis Island by the skin of his teeth thanks to a passerby who took pity on him, Kaelan would find himself wandering the shores of New York and stumbling upon the water-logged body of a man called Caleb (last name)
